How to Import Master Pages in Adobe InDesign
See Adobe InDesign: Tips and Tricks for similar articles.
For many organizations, the layouts of various documents are similar, containing many common elements. If a new project is being started that will use the same page sizes, page numbering, etc., as a previous project, time can be saved by importing, or loading, those master pages into the new file.
- In the new project, go to the Pages Panel menu, then to Master Pages, and select Load Master Pages....

- Select the file in the directory and click OK. If the file being loaded has master pages with the same name as the current document, an alert message will appear. The choices are to either replace the current document's existing masters or rename the masters being loaded.

- Look in the master section of the Pages Panel to see the masters that have been loaded.
