How to Request a Read Receipt in Microsoft Outlook

A read receipt confirms that an Outlook message you sent has been received and opened.

This feature works the same in all modern versions of Microsoft Outlook: 2010, 2013, and 2016.

When sending a message, if you want to add a read receipt to the message, select the Options tab, and in the Tracking group, check the Request a Read Receipt check box. Request a Read Receipt
