How to Remove a Background Color in Adobe Captivate

If a logo needs to be used in a Captivate module and the only file format available is JPG, the logo will have an opaque white background because transparency isn't supported in JPGs. While Captivate isn't an image-editing program, there is a way to remove background color from an image. The result won't be perfect, but, in a pinch, it's a useful tool to have.

  1. Select the image and go to the Properties Inspector and click the Style tab.
  2. Open the Swatches menu and choose the Eyedropper. Properties Inspector
  3. Click anywhere on the white background of the image. Properties Inspector
  4. You'll find the Eyedropper in all the color and swatches menus, and it can also be used to sample and apply color. Here it will be used to apply the orange color in the logo to text. Select the caption, go to Properties Inspector > Style, and open the Color menu. Choose the Eyedropper and then click on the color in the logo. Properties Inspector
