How to Import a File in Microsoft Word

It's easy to import different file formats like .txt files and PDFs into Word.
This feature works the same in all modern versions of Microsoft Word: 2010, 2013, and 2016.
- From the File menu, select Open.
- Select where the file is located, and from the Open dialog box, select the file and click Open.
- The file is imported into Word.
