How to Change Ribbon Tab Order in Microsoft Word

You can change the order of the Ribbon tabs in Microsoft Word to best suit your audience by following these three steps.

This feature works the same in all modern versions of Microsoft Word: 2010, 2013, and 2016.

  1. Right-click the Ribbon and select Customize the Ribbon. Select Customize the Ribbon
  2. On the right, under Customize the Ribbon, select the tab you want to move and change its position using the arrows. Change Position Using Arrows
  3. Click OK to save the changes.
