This feature works the same in all modern versions of Microsoft PowerPoint: 2010, 2013, and 2016.
- Click in a designated text placeholder.

- Once you click in the text placeholder, it becomes active and the cursor indicates where to enter your desired text.

- Ensure that your cursor is located inside the text placeholder and begin typing your text.
