MOC 10992 - Integrating On-Premises Core Infrastructure with Microsoft Azure

This 3-day instructor-led course covers a range of components, including Azure Compute, Azure Storage, and network services that customers can benefit from when deploying hybrid solutions. In this context, the term hybrid means integrating infrastructure technologies that customers host in on-premises datacenters with Azure IaaS and PaaS services. This course offers an overview of these services, providing the knowledge necessary to design hybrid solutions properly. It also includes a number of demonstrations and labs that enable students to develop hands-on skills that are necessary when implementing such solutions.

This course is intended for IT professionals and development operations (DevOps) professionals who are well versed in on-premises technologies and who have some knowledge of cloud technologies but want to learn more about integrating their on-premises environments with Azure. These professionals should have at least three years of experience working in their respective fields—typically, in the areas of on-premises system administration or network administration, in addition to DevOps support. These IT professionals have broadly applicable administration and operational skills, and they generally work for both enterprise-level organizations and small and medium business environments.

More specifically, the intended audience includes:

  1. IT professionals who have used on-premises virtualization technologies, including both Hyper-V and VMware platforms, but who want to deploy, configure, and administer services and virtual machines in Azure.
  2. IT professionals who have used Microsoft System Center to manage and orchestrate an on-premises server infrastructure.

MOC 10993A - Integrating On-Premises Identity Infrastructure with Microsoft Azure

This Integrating On-Premises Identity Infrastructure with Microsoft Azure training class teaches IT professionals how to integrate their on-premises AD DS environment with Azure AD and how to use Azure AD as a directory service. It also teaches candidates how to use Azure RMS to protect sensitive documents. Additionally, it focusses on how to enhance authentication with multi-factor authentication and how to monitor directory synchronization health.

The primary audience for this course is existing IT professionals who have some knowledge and experience with Azure, and advanced experience with the Windows Server operating system. In addition, IT professionals who take this course typically want to develop knowledge of identity services integration between on-premises services and cloud services. This would typically include:

  1. AD DS administrators who are looking to train in cloud identity and access technologies.
  2. System or infrastructure administrators with general AD DS experience and knowledge, who are looking for more advanced identity training for Azure services.

MOC 20487 - Developing Windows Azure and Web Services

In this Windows Azure and Web Services training class, students will learn how to design and develop services that access local and remote data from various data sources. Students will also learn how to develop and deploy services to hybrid environments, including on-premises servers and Windows Azure.

This course is intended for both novice and experienced .NET developers who have a minimum of six months programming experience, and want to learn how to develop services and deploy them to hybrid environments.

MOC 20532 - Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions

This Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions training class is intended for students who have experience building vertically scaled applications. Students will also have experience with the Microsoft Azure platform and a basic understanding of the services offered.

This course offers students the opportunity to take an existing ASP.NET MVC application and expand its functionality as part of moving it to Azure. This course focuses on the considerations necessary when building a highly available solution in the cloud. This course also prepares the students for the 70-532: Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions certification exam.

The candidates targeted by this training have basic experience in implementing and monitoring Microsoft Azure solutions. Candidates are also proficient with the development tools, techniques and approaches used to build application solutions.

MOC 20533 - Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions

This Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions training class teaches IT professionals how to provision and manage services in Microsoft Azure. Students will learn how to implement infrastructure components such as virtual networks, virtual machines, containers, web and mobile apps, and storage in Azure. Students also will learn how to plan for and manage Azure AD, and configure Azure AD integration with on-premises Active Directory domains.

  5. IT professionals who are experienced in other non-Microsoft cloud technologies, meet the course prerequisites, and want to cross-train on Azure.
  6. IT professionals who want to take the Microsoft Certification Exam 70-533: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions.

MOC 10979 - Microsoft Azure Fundamentals

This Microsoft Azure Fundamentals training class provides the underlying knowledge required by all individuals who will be evaluating Microsoft Azure, whether they are administrators, developers, or database administrators. This course also provides the prerequisite knowledge for students wishing to attend Course 20532D: Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions, or Course 20533D: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions. This course will introduce students to the principles of cloud computing. Students will become familiar with how these principles have been implemented in Microsoft Azure. In addition, this course will explain how to implement the core Azure infrastructure, consisting of virtual networks and storage. With this foundation, students will learn how to create the most common Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Web Apps, and Azure SQL Database. The course will conclude by describing features of Azure AD and methods of integrating it with on-premises Active Directory.

This course is intended for individuals who want to evaluate deploying, configuring, and administering services and VMs using Azure, including:

  1. Developers who want to evaluate creating Azure solutions.
  2. Windows Server administrators who are looking to evaluate the migration of on-premises Active Directory services and roles to the cloud.
  3. IT professionals who want to evaluate the use of Azure to host web sites and mobile app back-end services.
  4. Database administrators who want to evaluate the use of Azure to host SQL databases.
