Course Overview

AI as a Coding Partner is for people who want to move beyond simple AI prompts and learn how to work with AI tools more effectively while building apps and websites. The course shows students how to use chat-based tools and agentic coding assistants such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, and GitHub Copilot as practical partners for planning, creating, reviewing, and improving code.

Students will learn how to give AI better context, ask more precise questions, guide an AI assistant through small development tasks, and use AI to review and debug existing work. By the end of the course, students will be better prepared to collaborate with AI coding tools, catch mistakes, improve results, and use AI support more confidently throughout the development process.

Course Benefits

  • Understand the difference between chat-based AI workflows and agentic coding assistant workflows.
  • Use tools such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, and GitHub Copilot to support app and website development tasks.
  • Write clearer, more precise prompts that help AI tools produce more useful results.
  • Guide an AI assistant through a small feature-building cycle from request to refinement.
  • Use AI to review existing code and suggest improvements.
  • Provide AI with the right context to help troubleshoot bugs and explain possible fixes.
  • Check AI-generated changes through verification and regression review before relying on the results.
