The Spring framework, initially introduced in 2002, is the most popular open source application framework for the Java platform. Spring makes it easy to build full-blown applications from plain old Java objects (POJOs).
In the classic approach to Spring development, developers were forced to configure their applications from scratch, but with the introduction of Spring Boot in 2014, which provides an “opinionated” starter configuration, it is much easier to get a Spring application up and running.
