Advanced Crystal Reports (CRY2011.3)

Create more sophisticated reports that answer complex business questions and make data easier to understand. This class takes your Crystal Reports skills to an advanced level by teaching you to work with SQL, build dynamic report logic using advanced functions, and add geographic visualizations that reveal patterns and trends in your data.

Class starts with a review of essential components of report building, setting a solid groundwork for more complex tasks. Then we dive right into SQL, including using the SELECT Statement in various scenarios, using the WHERE Clause to filter data effectively, the ORDER BY Clause to sort data, and Joins to bring tables together for more comprehensive reports. You’ll also learn to use basic SQL commands and expressions for manipulating and querying your data.

From there, we explore advanced functions that are used to build more efficient and dynamic reports including evaluation time functions, working with variables, and the mechanics of loops (including the For Loops and While Do Loops). 

Finally, you’ll tackle Geographic Mapping. This lesson introduces geographic maps, guiding you through the basics of mapping and the steps involved in adding a geographic chart to your reports. This skill is particularly beneficial for visualizing data in a spatial context, aiding in geographic analysis.

By the end of this course, you will be ready to use various SQL statements, employ advanced functions, and integrate geographic mapping to build high quality reports that offer more advanced insights.
