Course Overview

This workshop is designed for contract specialists, procurement professionals, and contract managers who want to use AI tools to work more efficiently across the contract lifecycle. No technical background in AI is required. Participants will learn how to apply AI to tasks like summarizing and reviewing contracts, comparing versions and redlines, extracting key terms and obligations, drafting routine contract language and correspondence, and tracking deadlines and renewal dates. The course is tool-agnostic and can be delivered using whichever AI platform your organization already uses, including ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or Gemini. Examples throughout the course are drawn from real contract management workflows.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to use AI tools with confidence to support everyday contract work. This course is taught from a tool-usage perspective and does not cover contract law, legal interpretation, or risk determination. AI-generated summaries, redlines, and risk flags are a starting point for human review, not a substitute for legal counsel — participants should continue to route contracts through their organization's standard legal review process.

Course Benefits

  • Write effective prompts for contract tasks including summarization, clause extraction, comparison, and drafting
  • Use AI tools to quickly summarize contracts and extract key terms: parties, dates, obligations, pricing, and termination conditions
  • Compare contract versions and redlines to spot what changed between drafts
  • Apply responsible use practices specific to contract work, including where AI outputs require legal review and where they should never be treated as final
  • Draft and refine routine contract language, amendments, and stakeholder communications using AI as a writing partner
