# Using the YEAR, MONTH, and DAY Functions

In this exercise, you will practice using the YEAR, MONTH, and DAY functions.

1. Open Functions.xlsx from your Excel2013.2/Exercises folder and go to the sheet named "Date".
2. Use the YEAR, MONTH, and DAY functions to add the years, months, and days of the dates found in column A to columns B, C, and D.

## Solution:

1. To add the year of the dates found in column A to column B:
1. In the sheet named "Date", select cell B2.
2. On the FORMULAS tab, in the Function Library group, click the Insert Function command:
3. In the Insert Function dialog box:
1. Search on "Year" or, in the Or select a category drop-down box, select Date & Time.
2. Under Select a function, select YEAR.
3. Click OK.
4. In the Function Arguments dialog box:
1. In the Serial_number field, enter cell A2.
2. Click OK.
5. Copy cell B2 to cells B3:B6.

1. In the sheet named "Date", select cell C2.
