How to Use the Shear Tool in Adobe InDesign

The Shear Tool can be used to warp frames and content by skewing them.

  1. Select the frame to be sheared.

  2. Go to the Toolbar, then click and hold on the Free Transform Tool to select the Shear Tool.

  3. Click and hold anywhere above, below, or at either side of the frame and drag. Tip: Holding down the Shift key while dragging will shear the frame in 45-degree increments.
