How to Use Smart Lookup in Microsoft Excel

Get more insight into what you're working on by using Smart Lookup. Just follow a few simple steps to find articles, top searches from the web, and more.

  1. When you right-click on an item in Excel, one of the available options is Smart Lookup.

  2. This will launch the Insights pane, which is powered by Bing, Microsoft's search engine. Articles, definitions, and more will appear in the pane.

  3. You can also launch the Insights pane by selecting the Review tab and then selecting Smart Lookup in the Insights group.
