How to Set Up for HTML5 Training

Setting up for HTML5 Training is easy.

  1. Visual Studio Code (Download, Install, and Set up)
    • While you may use a different editor or IDE, Visual Studio Code is an excellent IDE to learn to code on. It provides a nice balance of power and simplicity and it is available on Windows and Mac.
  2. A Web browser (The latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari)
  3. Audio and Video
    • If you want to play around with creating audio files, you can download these free tools:
      • Audacity - for creating MP3 and OGG files
      • oggdropXPd - for converting MP3 files to OGG
      • Miro Video Converter - for converting between video file types
  4. The HTML5 Class Files
    1. Download the class files.
    2. After downloading the class files, create a directory on your hard drive named "Webucator" that can be found easily.
      1. On Windows it is recommended the new folder have a path of C:\Webucator.
      2. On Mac OS X a good location for the new folder may be in your Documents directory.
    3. Extract the files to the folder you just created.
