How to Name a Range of Cells in Microsoft Excel

You can name a range of cells in Microsoft Excel in just a few easy steps.

This feature works the same in all modern versions of Microsoft Excel: 2010, 2013, and 2016.


  1. Select the cells in the range you wish to name.

  2. In the Name Box (to the left of the formula bar), type the name.
