How do you get ColdFusion Builder to open search results in separate tabs?

When doing a File Search in ColdFusion Builder, you may wish to look at multiple files from the results at the same time to compare results or to make selective changes throughout or for some other reason. When you doubleclick on a result, the file opens in a new tab. But when you doubleclick on another result, instead of opening in a new tab, the same tab is reused. Here's how to change that behavior.

To get search results to open in separate tabs, you need to change your preferences (Adobe ColdFusion Builder 2016 > Preferences).

  1. Click General.
  2. Click Search.
  3. Uncheck "Reuse editors to show matches".

Now when you click on a search result, ColdFusion Builder won't hide the last file you opened from the search results.
