How to Create Custom Bullets in Microsoft Word

Change the look of the bullets in your Word document by following these four steps.

This feature works the same in all modern versions of Microsoft Word: 2010, 2013, and 2016.

Instructions

  1. From the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, select the Bullets drop-down list.

  2. Select Define New Bullet.
    Define New Bullet

  3. Select a bullet character and alignment options, and click OK.
    Select From Options

  4. The custom bullet is inserted.
