How to Close a Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation

We'll show you the two most common ways to close a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.

This feature works the same in all modern versions of Microsoft PowerPoint: 2010, 2013, and 2016.

  1. Click the white "X" in the upper right corner.
    White X

  2. From the FILE menu, select Close. (In Word 2007, select the Microsoft Office button Microsoft Office Button and then click Close.) Click Close

  3. When you close your presentation, you will be prompted to save if you have made any changes since the last time you saved.
