Class Overview

This Windows Vista training class provides IT Professionals who work in enterprise organizations with the knowledge and skills to install, deploy, configure, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Vista. Class Prerequisites

Experience in the following areas is required:

  • PC hardware and devices. For example, be able to look into the device manager and look for unsupported devices.
  • TCP/IP.
  • Windows and Active Directory directory service. For example, domain user accounts, domain versus local user accounts, user profiles, and group membership.
  • Be able to map network file shares.
  • Working from a command prompt. For example, authoring and editing batch files.
  • Configuring basic input/output system options.
  • Be familiar with reviewing support logs. Know that there is a chronology, sequential order, and severity.
  • Supporting previous versions of the Windows operating system.
  • Be familiar with an IT helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Researching online and local knowledge bases. Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of applications. For example, client/server applications (how clients communicate with the server).
