Technical Requirements
Hosted Server
Although students will need to make sure they can participate in a WebEx meeting and that their headsets are working properly, they do not need to set up any software to participate in this class. Webucator will provide a pre-configured computer for students to remote into.
Remote Desktop
- You will be required to have an Internet connection that supports at least 1 Mb/s downstream bandwidth to effectively use remote desktop.
- Please note that you will need to have this required bandwidth per connection. If you will be establishing 10 connection from one location, you need to have at least 10 Mb/s downstream bandwidth.
- If you're unsure of your bandwidth it can be tested at the following link: Bandwidth Test
- You may need to have your system administrator or IT department enable RDP port 3389. As this may take some time, please consult them as soon as possible to ensure you will be able to participate in this class.
Testing Remote Desktop
- In order to check that port 3389 is available for use with Microsoft Remote Desktop, please follow these instructions.
- Executing the Remote Desktop client
- Windows XP: Execute the Remote Desktop client by selecting the Start Menu => All Programs => Accessories => Communications, => Remote Desktop Connection
- Windows Vista/7: Execute the Remote Desktop client by typing "Remote Desktop Connection" into the "Search" field of the start menu.
- Mac OSX: You will need to download the Mac OSX Remote Desktop client from Microsoft.
- Testing your connectivity to our servers
- Once the Remote Desktop client is open enter the following connection details.
- Computer: moc2.webulabs.com
- Username: Webucator\TempUser
- Password: TempPass1!
- Click "Connect"
- You should be connected briefly then disconnected, this is normal.
