Dual Monitors

Although not required, Webucator recommends that you use dual monitors when taking our Instructor-led Online classes. This will enable you to work on one monitor while viewing your instructor's computer screen on the second monitor. If you do not have dual monitors you will still be able to take and enjoy our classes.

How are your Instructor-led Online Courses delivered? Do you use Web conferencing software?

Webucator's public classes are delivered using WebEx, a state-of-the-art Web communication platform. To participate in our classes, all you need is a Web browser with a high-speed internet connection.

Please verify you meet the WebEx software requirements. You can also conduct a test to ensure your computer is set up with the appropriate tools to participate in our courses.

If you have any trouble with setting up WebEx, please send us a Support Request and we'll contact you directly.

Although our classes use Voice over IP (VoIP), there may be a technical need to switch all students over to a telephone conference call. We recommend that you have a phone headset or speaker phone available in addition to the headset provided to you by Webucator.

What speed and type of Internet Connections work with the Instructor-led Online Courses?

Essentially, the faster your Internet Connection, the better. Our courses require a wired broadband connection, e.g. Cable, DSL, T1, etc. Wireless connections are not recommended.

Are Webucator's courses compatible with both Windows and Macintosh?

Our online learning environment, WebEx, is compatible with both Windows and Intel Macintosh. WebEx is not compatible with PowerPC Macintosh computers. However, some of our classes require Windows. Please review the setup instructions for your class for more information.

Do you have instructions to follow so I can prepare my computer for class?

We certainly do! Go to your class list and complete each step to ensure you are ready for your Instructor-led Online class.

How do I setup my new headset?

If you're using an Apple computer with Mac OS X, you need to let us know during your pre-class check-in so we can send you the necessary hardware to ensure you can participate in your Webucator course.

Most computers are configured to allow you the use of audio output. However, you may need to adjust your audio settings to allow audio input as well as audio output.

These instructions should help you configure your audio settings in both Windows and Mac operating systems:

  • Configuring Your Microphone In Windows 7

  • Configuring Your Microphone In Mac OS X
