Separate Web Server, Application Server and Database

Web Server Options

If you did not install XAMPP or MAMP, please choose one of the following options.

• Internet Information Services (IIS)
  • Instructions - Please note that Internet Information Services (IIS) cannot be installed on Windows XP Home Edition.
• Apache HTTP Server
  • Download

Application Server Options

If you did not install XAMPP or MAMP, please choose one of the following options.

• ColdFusion Application Server
  • Download
  • System Requirements
• PHP 5.2 or later
  • Download
• If using ASP Classic with IIS, no Application Server is required

Database Options

If you did not install XAMPP or MAMP, please choose one of the following options.

• Microsoft Access 2000 or later
• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express

• MySQL 4.1 or later
  • Download
• Oracle 8i or later
  • Download - - Oracle Database 10g Express Edition
  • The file you want to download is Oracle Database 10g Express Edition (Western European) - OracleXE.exe.
  • You will need to register for a free account.
  • Run through the Installer accepting all the defaults. Make sure to write down your password.
  • Follow steps 1-3 of the Getting Started Guide available at the Oracle Web site

The class files for this course are included on a CD that is shipped with the manual.

Your instructor will tell you where to save the files during class.
