Configuring Your Microphone In Windows VistaPlease follow these instructions to configure your Webucator microphone for Windows Vista:
- Left-click on the Start button. The Start Menu will appear.
- Left-click on Control Panel. The Control Panel will open.
- Left-click on the Hardware and Sound option. The Hardware and Sound window will open.
- Left-click on the Sound option. The Sound window will open.
- Left-click on Recording from the three tabs at the top of the Sound window. While in the Recording tab of the Sound window, you will see all options available for recording - Microphone should be one of them. (If you don’t see an option for Microphone, ensure your microphone is plugged into your computer using the jacks commonly located on either the front or back of the machine.)
- Left-click on the Microphone option to highlight it. This will enable the Configure button toward the bottom-left of the window.
- Left-click on the Configure button. This will open the Speech Recognition Options window.
- Left-click on Set up microphone. This will enable the Microphone Setup Wizard. Ensure the Headset Microphone option is active.
- Left-click on the Next button. This will advance the window to the Set up your microphone screen where you’ll discover some helpful hints for using your microphone.
- Again, left-click on the Next button. This will advance the window to the Adjust the microphone volume screen. Follow the instructions on the screen by speaking the sentence provided into your microphone. The microphone level indicator should move from left to right depending on how loud you speak.
- Follow any remaining steps provided by the Microphone Setup Wizard, left-clicking Next or Finish in the appropriate locations.
