Configuring Your Microphone In Mac OS X

Please note: you will only need to plug the earphones in to your Mac's headphone jack. You will not use the microphone on the Webucator provided headset, rather you will simply use the built-in microphone.

  1. Plug the headset into an available USB port on the front or back of your machine.
  2. Click on the Apple icon in the upper-left portion of the screen, then choose System Preferences.
  3. Click on Sound. The Sound window will open.
  4. Click on the Input tab of the Sound window. This will make your microphone settings available.
  5. The Internal microphone should be highlighted. Once this option is active, the Input settings are enabled for the headset. You may want to increase the volume of your microphone if others cannot hear you well.
  6. Ensure your microphone levels are moving according to your voice. If they are, you're finished.

Your microphone should be ready for your Webucator course!
