SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) Training Overview

This SSIS training course will enable technology professionals with little or no ETL experience and minimal exposure to SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 to be comfortable and productive with the SSIS tools and technologies. In this course you will learn about the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and building Database Maintenance Plans. You will be introduced to the Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) and working with Control Flow and Data Flow. You will also become familiar with SSIS package management and package deployment along with learning to write solid code using debugging, error handling and logging techniques.

SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) Training Technical Requirements

  1. Internet Information Services
  2. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with SP2
    • Download - Full installation (including all services) required of developer or enterprise edition.
  3. Microsoft SQL Server Sample Databases
    • Download - Choose AdventureWorksDBCI.msi and AdventureWorksLT.msi.
      1. After downloading the sample databases, execute the MSI files by double-clicking on them.
      2. You must now attach the databases. You can do this in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio:
        1. Open Object Explorer
        2. Right-click on the Databases folder and select "Attach"
        3. In the dialog that appears, click "Add..."
        4. In turn, navigate to and select each of the newly installed MDF files (probably in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data).
        5. Click OK. The dialog should close and you should see the new databases listed under the Databases folder
