SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services (SSRS) Training Overview

In this SSRS training course, you will learn how to use SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services to create, execute, and manage reports. You will learn how to create tabular, matrix (cross-tab), and chart reports using Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Studio. You'll explore creating reports with groups, expressions, conditional formatting, and parameters. The reports you create in the course will employ shared data sources, interactive sorting, and drill-down capabilities.You'll also explore the deployment and printing of reports and the export of reports to PDF, Excel, and other formats. SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services (SSRS) Training Technical Requirements

  1. Internet Information Services
  2. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with SP2
    • Download - Full installation (including all services) required of developer or enterprise edition.
  3. Microsoft SQL Server Sample Databases
    • Download - Choose AdventureWorksDBCI.msi and AdventureWorksLT.msi.
      1. After downloading the sample databases, execute the MSI files by double-clicking on them.
      2. You must now attach the databases. You can do this in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio:
        1. Open Object Explorer
        2. Right-click on the Databases folder and select "Attach"
        3. In the dialog that appears, click "Add..."
        4. In turn, navigate to and select each of the newly installed MDF files (probably in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data).
        5. Click OK. The dialog should close and you should see the new databases listed under the Databases folder
