Setup Instructions for
Introdution to Perl/CGI Training
- If you haven't already, download the class files listed at the bottom of this page.
- Create a folder in the root of your C drive called "Webucator" and extract the class files zip file to that folder.
- Make sure that you have installed the editor you plan to use in class. These instructions assume you will be using Crimson Editor.
- Open Crimson Editor from Start > Programs > Crimson Editor.
- Go to File > FTP > FTP Settings.
- Configure the FTP Settings of Crimson Editor with the following information:
- Description: Webucator
- FTP Server: webucator.atwebpages.com
- UID: 133072_students
- PWD: webucator
- Save Password should be checked.
- Leave Subdirectory empty.
- Click on the Advanced button at the bottom of the FTP Settings window
- Ensure Passive FTP mode is checked.
- Click OK in the FTP Advanced window.
- Click OK in the FTP Settings window.
- To test the configuration, go to File > FTP > Open Remote... in Crimson Editor.
- Click the Connect button and you should see a group of directories labeled with titles like student1, student2, etc. Please do not edit any folder or file in that directory. Your instructor will designate your folder during class.
